Welcome to First Baptist Church of Denver's Grand Aeolian-Skinner web-site!

The Organ Committee of First Baptist Church of Denver, Colorado presents the capital campaign to re-furbish the Grand Aeolian Skinner Organ Opus 1047-A. Known as “The Senator’s Organ” it has a rich history which embodies American Organ Building techniques. The instrument has 120 ranks with over 6000 pipes in five divisions powered by a 15 HP blower and is commanded from a four-manual console. Although it is still a magnificent instrument, decades of use, deterioration from age, and damage from water it is in need of serious reconstruction and updating.

The Grand Aeolian-Skinner Stewardship Committee has engaged Harris Organ Works of Denver, Colorado to undertake the historical conservation of the instrument. It will comprise a considerable expansion of the organ, much needed repairs, and state-of-the-art control technology. A new carillon will be installed in the church spire. When complete the organ will comprise over 9000 pipes in 6 divisions, and will be the largest pure-pipe American built organ between San Francisco and Nashville.

The project is estimated to cost $825,000.00 and will be funded by gifts from foundations, community partners, and private donations.  fbcdorgan
